For Northern Ireland schools

Built for the SEN framework you're actually running — legacy 5-stage or the new 3-stage model.

Northern Ireland is mid-transition from the legacy 5-stage SEN framework to a new 3-stage model, and schools are landing on different sides of that line depending on when their Education Authority region moved. Underneath both sits the same statutory anchor: a Statement of Special Educational Needs, issued by the Education Authority under the Education (Northern Ireland) Order 1996 — not an EHCP, and not interchangeable with one in how it's issued, held or reviewed.

Statements handled as the read-only statutory documents they are

OMNIA stores every Education-Authority-issued Statement of SEN as a read-only reference, and keeps school-generated IEPs and Personal Learning Plans — the day-to-day documents your SENCo actually authors — clearly separate from it. Nothing in the platform implies a school document amends or replaces a Statement.

Framework-aware from day one

We confirm which framework version you're on — legacy 5-stage or new 3-stage — when we set your school up, and OMNIA applies the right stage labels, terminology and statutory expectations from there. A school partway through transition isn't forced to pretend it's finished, and self-service switching in your own settings is on our roadmap.

Three things NI SENCos ask for first

  • Statement tracking that respects who issued it. Education-Authority Statements held as read-only references, never confused with a school-authored IEP.
  • The right stage labels for your framework. Legacy 5-stage or new 3-stage — confirmed when we set up your school, applied consistently everywhere.
  • IEPs and Personal Learning Plans that hold up to EA scrutiny. Evidence built as you go, not assembled the week before a review.

The honest position

OMNIA does not replace the SENCo, the Education Authority, or the Statement itself. It's the platform that keeps IEPs current, keeps stage transitions visible, and keeps evidence ready — so the SENCo's time goes on the pupils, not the paperwork.
